Set Point - Make a Difference Campaign

We are a team of 9 people from different divisions of Set Point group who are involved in a structured mentorship program and we are currently involved in a project of making a difference through education. We will be starting our project with one ABET school named Thuto-Mfundo located in Vosloorus.

The school has about 700 learners with age range from about 18 years to 70 years. Our focus for this year is to start with grade 10 to 12 buying them computers and train them on basic computer skills so that they can be employable after they have finished their grade 12.After visiting the school we really saw the need for them to be acquired with skills that are sustainable such as computers skills and if we manage to raise enough funds we will extend to things like sewing and carpentry skills to accommodate different age groups.

The main objective is to offer a skill that is sustainable, that will make them employable after grade 12 and us going the route of education, we realized that we won’t go wrong. You can see how cramped the class is. We actually wanted to go as far as building more classes but time is on our side and we are hoping that the next group of mentees will have enough time to go as far as building classes.
